Netflix Chooses Ideal Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t unfold until season 3, and a adored, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The platform declared Tuesday that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Mr. 2. The role can use their power to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve touched with their main hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will play a version of that role reimagined as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the original manga and anime.
Escola joins a number of fresh additions who will portray the organization to reality, such as chief the main antagonist, portrayed by the well-known actor, a talented actress as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the cast as the ruler of Alabasta.
Though Bon Clay is a major member of the organization, the persona will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Considering season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this marks a significant shift in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal additional alterations to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.
The platform’s adapted One Piece show is set to return for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
