Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
It said debris fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
