Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time coach Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is his initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after spring of 2023.

Success also means Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching approach and regular reactions on court had prompted some to question if his ability to perform at the top level was over.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the last five points to go ahead.

Both players traded break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional championship, took control to create a decider.

He saved four early-game opportunities in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.

Appropriately, he clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
