Administration Decries 'Democrat Hoax' as Additional Jeffrey Epstein Photographs Released
Democratic lawmakers have released a new tranche of what they described as "troubling" pictures from the property of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 images—some of which have been previously circulated—combined with another 70 unveiled later on Friday represent a tiny fraction of the approximately 100,000 images released to the House investigative panel, which is examining the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The fallen money manager was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being accused of sex-trafficking offenses.
High-Profile Individuals in the Images
Featured among the prominent personalities shown in the first release are public figures including film director Woody Allen; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are redacted.
White House Response
The White House responded to the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of selectively "hand-picking" the pictures for political purposes and to "try and create a false account."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been consistently disproven," an administration official remarked, asserting that "the Trump administration has achieved more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have ever done by frequently urging transparency, disclosing thousands of pages of records, and calling for further investigations into Epstein's liberal connections."
Democratic Lawmaker Comment
The photos were published lacking captions, but as stated by a California Democrat and senior member of the oversight committee, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's links with the rich and powerful.
"The moment has come to stop this White House obfuscation and secure justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his influential associates," he declared in a statement.
The disclosure of these images coincides with the House panel continuing its investigation into the Epstein case.
